02/22/2021
“Letter from the President” Good afternoon to all our members: Mother nature is finally in our favor this year to get out and enjoy our snowmobiles and club-maintained trails. In the last couple of weekends, I have enjoyed riding with some club members, spending time on the groomers trying to keep things smooth for everyone and we have made some observations. One concern I have is with Corridor 93 traveling across Bryant Street. We have specific lanes stake out for riding, at the landowners’ request, and there have been many snowmobiles traveling outside these lanes. This needs to stop immediately, or we are at risk of the trail being shut down. Please respect the landowners. Without them, none of us can enjoy our sport. Trash on the trails needs to stop immediately. Bring it in, bring it out!! We have recently opened up the trail to the Chesterfield General Store, thanks to a couple of dedicated members. The store owner likes the business, so stop in and check it out. As most of you know, we were given approval to open our clubhouse for food and beverage. This was a lot of work for very few of us. At last count, we have over 90 members to date. We have a “core group” of 10 to 12 members, Officers and Board of Directors that are making this all happen. We need help to keep this going so that all of us can enjoy the clubhouse, riding and socializing that we all love so much. We need members that will be interested in helping with the kitchen or bartending to please step forward, even if for a 4-hour shift on a Saturday or Sunday. Please reach out to any of the officers or board of directors. We have had some great weekends, seeing lots of sleds stop in, and the word is out that we are serving great Burgers, Hot Dogs, Fries and “soup of the day”. I would love to keep it going while the snow is here. Lord knows we could use the revenue to keep the lights on etc... Last, but not least, is our grooming activity. We have had some interest and helping out, but there are still only a select few working the trails currently. If anyone is serious about helping out with the grooming, please reach out to myself or Matt Campbell. We would be glad to get you out there to keep the trails smooth and some fun doing it. Please keep in mind, that because of liability, only club members can operate the equipment. My apologies if this has a negative tone, but we are all trying to enjoy the great winter season, and “it takes a village” to make it happen. Thank you for your continued support and hope see you all at the clubhouse while the snow lasts. Sincerely, Todd Frost, Club President Trail Report

Trail report 3/5/2021: Trails are fair to good with a lot of ice on river road. We posted warning signs to caution everyone. Corridor 9 from Goshen has a couple of trees across the trail by Curtis’s house. We will be trying to clear them out tomorrow. Next Meeting 3/09/2021 7:00PM SledMass Trail Map App
